Scouting for Food - A Good Turn for America Project
The Troop Committee has decided that all Scouts MUST participate in the Scouting for Food Drive
Dear Scouts,

It’s that time of year again to help people with the Scouting for Food drive. You will be given 10 bags and asked to put them in 10 of your neighbor’s mailboxes along with a short note that you should sign and attach to the bag.
  1. You should wear your Class A uniform when distributing and collecting the bags to let everyone know that you are a Boy Scout and proud of it.
  2. Please put these bags out between Mon, Nov 17 and Wed, Nov 19.
  3. Collect the bags on Sat, Nov 22 between 9 and 10 a.m. If there are no bags outside your neighbor’s front door, please knock and politely ask about the bag. Some people like to hand it to the Scout themselves. If they say that they have no food to donate, then thank them for their time and wish them a good day. Remember that a Scout is always Friendly, Courteous and Kind.
  4. Please deliver your bags to Mr. Clark’s house (see address below), no later than 11 a.m. on Saturday November 22nd and count the number of items that you have collected. This information will be used to complete the report to Monmouth Council.
Thank you to all the Scouts and their parents for helping in the Scouting for Food drive.

Yours in Scouting,

Help needed this Saturday

Everyone
Our troop has a large shipping container in the VFW rear parking lot which we use to store all the troop's gear, keep it out of the weather, and safe.  We need to maintain the container if we want to continue to use it.

If you are able to help on Saturday, 8am-2pm to prep to storage container for painting , please respond to stjw35@aol.com.

If you are able to bring paint scraping tools or protective gear such as work gloves and face masks, please do.

Please note that we will NOT be painting the shipping container.

Thanks.

Help Needed at Veteran's Day Breakfast at VFW

I’m looking for help for the Veteran’s Day Breakfast at the VFW on Sunday, November 9th from anytime after 7am to about noon.  Work in class B, but the ceremony will be in class A.  We need help serving and also a 2-4 man color guard.

Everybody (families too) is invited to the breakfast.  The cost is free and runs from 8-11 with a short ceremony around 11.  Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, potatoes, coffee, tea and orange juice, as much as you can eat.

Thanks,

Will
