Being Prepared for Campouts

Hi All

I hope that everyone had a great time this past weekend at camp Winnebago. I noticed that a few of the Scouts could have been a little better prepared. There were Scouts who only had on hoodies and not nylon wind and water resistant jackets, improper footwear, no additional clothing to change into once there original set got wet. As parents you need to double check what Scouts are taking with them on camp outs and parents of newer Scouts should be sitting down with them when they get home to see how things went and what worked and what didn't.  This is there opportunity to review and make adjustments for future camp outs.

Don't forget the Scout motto is to be prepared and failure to prepare is preparing to fail.

Storage Container Cleanout

We will be cleaning out and organizing the troop's storage container at the VFW on Saturday the 28th from 10-2 (weather permitting).

Everyone should bring proper clothing for the weather that day, their own water, and work gloves.

Hershey Park trip coming up

Everyone,
Troop 122 will be camping at Bashore Scout Reservation in Jonestown, PA from Friday April 10th to Sunday April 12th, 2015.

On Saturday morning we will be heading to HERSHEY PARK!! The rides and attractions will be open. Admission to Zoo America is included. Scouts attending will be in groups and will be chaperoned by assigned scout leaders/adults. All Scouts planning to camp this weekend must commit to attend Hershey Park as no one will be left behind at camp.

Parents and siblings are welcome to join us on this campout. Or if camping is not for you, perhaps stay at a local hotel and meet us at HERSHEY PARK on Saturday morning. Park opens at 10am so we plan on arriving at 9:30am to get our group tickets and get the scouts and chaperones organized. If you plan on meeting us there, you must arrive at 9:30am.

Jesse Ramirez
