Camping at Pine Hill and Philadelphia Trip
On 4 - 6 April, 2014, Troop 122 will be camping at Pine Hill Scout Reservation in Pine Hill, NJ. After breakfast on Saturday morning we will take the Patco train to Philadelphia. We will visit the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and National Constitution Center. The cost for the train and admissions is $15.00 per person. We will be walking to the Reading Terminal Market for lunch, browsing and souvenir shopping. Scouts will need to bring money for souvenirs and lunch. After a day in Philadelphia, we will return to camp for dinner and campfire.
This trip will be a great opportunity for interested scouts to begin Citizenship in the Nation merit badge. Please ask Mr. Ramirez for a blue card BEFORE going on the trip if you would like to begin the merit badge.
There will be a permission slip specific to the Philadelphia excursion. Please return the bottom portion of this slip to Mr. Ramirez along with $15.00 by March 20th as reservations need to be made.
Regular camping permission slips are due at the 20 Mar 2014 Troop meeting. Since we are eating lunch in Philadelphia, the charge for food will be $7.00 cash (not $10.00 ). If you are absent from that Troop meeting, then permission slip must be returned to Mr. Ramirez (557 Mackey Ave Belford) no later than Sunday March 23rd. Questions – call Mr. Ramirez (732)962-0820

Spaghetti Dinner - Thanks from Mr. Ramirez
I would just like to take a moment to let all of the Scouts from our Troop in attendance at the spaghetti dinner tonight know how proud of them I am. From the way you were uniformed to how you carried yourselves and most importantly the way each of you stepped up to help out and make the dinner a great success. I know that you did what a Boy Scout is expected to do but it was the way it was done, without complaint or looking for acknowledgment and working like a well oiled machine.

Spaghetti Dinner - Thanks from Mr. Purcell
Just finished crunching numbers for the spaghetti dinner. We sold 137 tickets and after expenses, made over $500. The boys did an amazing job-it really takes a lot to serve a sit-down dinner to 130 some odd people and the boys did it almost by themselves. All the attendees really impressed by the job our boys did. A special thanks to Kevin Kern, Alex Kern, Rich Klawunn, Dan Klawunn, Vern Butler, Michael Butler, Steven Gardiner, Pat Twomey and Sean Crowell. Not to forget-another special thanks to Sue Butler for baking the two great cakes for dessert.
Of course, thank you to all who helped and participated by coming out to eat.
Yours in Scouting,
