The Troop will be providing Saturday - breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as Sunday breakfast. The Troop will also make ice tea and lemonade. If you prefer anything else to drink, you must provide it. You will be responsible for any snacks and a bag dinner for Friday. All Scouts and Scouters must have their mess kit with them.
As with all Scout outings and functions alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
VFW Community Service Project
On Saturday, 14 June at 9am at the VFW, we are going to mulch the area using the mulch leftover from last year. It will take 2-3 hours. Water will be provided. We need tools to complete this so bring shovels, rakes, pitchforks, wheelbarrows, gloves, or hoes - anything you've got. Also, PUT YOUR NAME ON IT - blue painting tape works well for this.
As this is a service project you will earn service hours that can be used for Star and Life scout requirements.
Any questions email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to me after one of the meetings.
Swim Test for Summer Camp
I need to know who would like to go out for a pre-test for the summer camp swim test on Sunday June 8th. Several of us will be at Quail Hill already helping with the Trail of the Pioneers.
See the message from Council below
Troop 122, Big Bears
Just a quick reminder, to help cut down on your check in time when you arrive at summer camp, we will be offering pre-summer camp swim tests again this year at Quail Hill.
Our pre-summer camp swim tests will be held on Saturday June 7, 2014 from 9am until 12pm and Sunday June 8, 2014 from 9am until 12pm both days at Quail Hill Scout Reservation. Sign ups must be done in advance and as a unit. We cannot accept walkins or individuals for testing. Your entire unit is not required, stragglers can be done during your Troop check-in.
