We are looking for youth and adult volunteers to run our water rocket station for Quail Hill Family Camp on this Sat, 18 June. Lunch will be provided if you get back to me, Alex Kern photoajk@yahoo.com, by 8 am tomorrow morning. Otherwise you are on your own for lunch. Transportation and leaving times will be discussed as the event comes closer.

We also need drivers and adult supervision.

Thank You,

Alex Kern

Photos from Forestburg Canoe Trip

This past weekend, the troop had a family canoe trip. We camped at a cabin and tents in Forestburg and on Saturday, went canoeing on the Delaware River. The weather and scenery on the Delaware River were excellent and to highlight the day, an American Bald Eagle landed on a rock to watch the Big Bears paddle past. It was quite exciting.

If you were not there, you really missed something.

Check out the Twitter feed - Note: There was no cell service at Forestburg so it is not complete

Scout/Adult Softball Game

The Annual Scout/Adult leader ended in a 19-19 tie. Getting closer.

Help needed at Blue Claws game

(already emailed to troop separately)

We need some scouts and parents to help out our Scouting district on Sat, 18 June, 5:30pm. We need volunteers that can help us to staff the concession stand at the Lakewood Blue Claws. Our Scouting district will receive a donation from the Blue Claws for this service.

If you are available, you would need to be at First Energy Stadium by 5:30pm. You would work at the concession stand with fellow Twin Lighters until approximately the 7th inning. You will not need a ticket for the game and will be able to park for free as a volunteer. Once you are done in the concession stand you may stay for the remainder of the game. If you have a scout who is looking for service hours, they can earn the hours by helping with this as well. Youth participants must be at least 16 years old.

Please let me know by 12 Jun if you can help! We need 20 people in total.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Jesse "Big Bear" Ramirez

Popcorn Sale Coordinator needed

(already emailed to troop separately)

We still have no one to run our popcorn sale this upcoming Fall. If anyone is interested it is now or never. Your will be:

  • securing blitz locations
  • attend the final popcorn presentation in August
  • place an order with the Council

If the popcorn sale doesn't take place the only opportunity that you will be offered by the Troop to offset your dues ( $175) and summer camp (approx $350) will be our annual fundraiser which is the wreath sale.

More than one person can run the popcorn sale but we will need someone to take the lead (popcorn kernel).

If this sounds like something that may be of interest to you please feel free to contact me and we can discuss it in further detail.

Yours in Scouting,

Jesse Big Bear Ramirez
