Just a few reminders for summer camp

Dear Scout and Parents,

Just a fe reminders for Summer Camp

  1. You must have merit badge books for each badge you are taking -look at them now- don't wait till the last minute.
  2. Merit badge prerequisites must be completed prior to summer camp. You must have written proof from your councilor at home or your parent that you completed that requirement properly, I cannot sign off on any requirement that I have not witnessed as being done properly
  3. You must bring your list of merit badges you are taking as well as their times. I will not have that information with me. It is your total responsibility to have this information. I will have the leader's guide which has the time for each merit badge and you can figure it out at camp if you forget.
  4. Money- Take money to pay for any kits you need and some extra for the trading post
  5. Swimming- Scouts must have necessary clothing for requirements for swimming . Check swimming merit badge on troop website
  6. No cell phones allowed at camp - All cell phones or electronic devices/games will be taken away and returned on arrival at home on Saturday
  7. All scouts must have their scout manual with them in order to get requirements signed off. New scouts will be working on tenderfoot, 2nd class and 1st class requirements
  8. All medications must be in original containers with all important information on labels. Please put an index card with scouts name, medications, and time schedule for taking medications. This is very helpful
  9. MOST IMPORTANT REMINDER OF ALL!!! Come to summer camp with a smile on your face and the joy of being in the woods for a week with your fellow scouts and leaders. Looking forward to a great week with everyone

Yours in Scouting,

Bob Gargano

Assistant Scoutmaster
