Due: Final Summer Camp Payment ($130)

Help Needed at VFW for Pinewood Derby

The Troop will be running the concession stand at the Twinlights Pinewood derby this weekend.

We are looking for a few of the older Scouts to help cook and serve food, we could also use a few adults to handle cash. First race starts at 10:30 so I would imagine we would need to be there by 9-9:30 to setup.

Anyone interested in volunteering please contact Mr. Purcell at kamehameha642@mac.com.

Troop 122's 25th Anniversary Picnic at Quail Hill

In celebration of Troop 122's 25th year, we are having a picnic at Quail Hill.

We will be camping from 2-4 Jun. On Sat, 3 Jun we will have a

  • barbecue picnic
  • 2 hours of pool time
  • 1 hr of BB & Archery time

We encourage families to join us!

BB and Archery Range Help

We need some help for the 25th Anniversary Quail Hill picnic. In order for Troop 122 to use the BB & Archery ranges we need at least 2 adults to take the BB & Archery training course scheduled for Sun. 7 May from 10am-3pm. The Troop will pay for the training.

If you can join us for the picnic and would be willing to take the training so you can be our BB & Archery Rangemaster for the day, please let me know so I get you registered for the course.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Troop 122 Summer Camp payments due

Hi Parents,

Summer camp is right around the corner! Troop 122 will be attending Forestburg Scout Reservation in Forestburg NY (near Port Jervis) Week 3 which is July 23 - July 29.

In order for the Troop to plan properly we need to know if your son is attending.

We are coming up on the Earlybird Discount payment deadline (see attached flyer). By paying early it is a savings of $20.

If your son has money in his scout account or has sold camp cards we can apply the money he has earned towards summer camp. But you have to let us know.

Please let me know if your son is attending summer camp bigbearstroop122@aol.com or 732-962-0820

Please let our treasurer Mrs Butler know if you would like any money in your son's account to be applied to summer camp suzybut77@hotmail.com or 732-977-7288

Also, merit badge classes are filling up fast for camp so it is important that your son make his selections quickly. Same goes for Discover Scuba Program, Outback Program, Buckskin Camper Program and Frontier Camp Program. Information was handed out to the scouts at a previous meeting. If you do not have it, you can go to www.fsrcamp.org and check out the Leader's Guide which is located on the home page. Your son's selections should be given to Mr. Gargano or Mr. Zabriskie.

This is the Troop's 25th Anniversary - our 25th of summer camp and Forestburg was Troop 122's first summer camp. We encourage all our scouts to attend and celebrate with our Troop!

We are striving for 100% attendance!

If you have any questions or concerns regarding summer camp, feel free to contact me.
